Tag Along

Mamdy, of Mandy's Magical World of Art and Sunday Postcard Art, has a new site, for people who like to make tags. It's called Tag Along

I don't know if I like to make tags or not, but--what the hey--I'll try anything once.

The first theme is Vintage.  Here's my tag.

Three Muses--Why I create

I have been creating art, in many forms, since I can remember--paper and crayons, scissors and glue, fabric and thread, glass and clay, stone and string. Photoshop and digital camera...
To create is a drive, an aspiration, a need, a WONDER.  It's a way to explore, not only the many, many media available, but to explore the world, and an attempt to embrace and explain.
There is color and light, texture, words and images, broad strokes and delicate lines--the tools we use to explore and explain and interpret what we see--AND--what we feel.
I photograph, and often use those images as a jumping off point...
I create digital images out of color and light...
I (try to) tell stories and illustrate feelings...
I create mail art and send it into the real world...
I journal to explore my own soul...

Using text in my art is one of my favorite things.

Began with the text piece, Graphics Fairy, I think; then the cabinet card, from a free to use Flickr group; then the clock with no hands (one of my favorite elements) from Google; then the border and then the rose from Marta Van Eck, and finally the words from Altered Emporium.

The wings for this little fairy are made from a coffee filter, sprinkled with baking soda, dprayed with vinegar and dripped with food coloring.  What fun!

I found this photo of this beautiful young man on Google Images.  When I visited the page, I found it was his obituary.  The translation of the Spanish is here.

This Sunday, May 15, at approximately 2:30 pm, Eugenio Ernesto market Sánchez PACHELY, ceased to exist.... Excellent husband and father, a great friend but especially... Great person! Ex-companero of Group A of our beloved generation 71-74... Rest in peace...
