photo art friday--a path or road
This week we have the option of showcasing any piece of photo art, OR a
piece featuring our interpretation of a
path or a road.
So, while not a path per se...the potential of a journey
I uses Dappled Dawn and Yesteryear.

52 Starlets the 80's
One of my favorite movies of the very forgettable 80's is the Breakfast Club, with starlets Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy.
Take a Word--Hats
All elements except Bunnie are from Tumblefish Studio's part of the "I'm With The Band" mega-kit for charity at DeviantScrap

Take a Word ~ Angels
This began as the SPA challenge postcard for Green. You may recognize the background piece from Yindabelle. The bird is from the Feathered Nest and the angel and carved stone overlay were found on ImageAfter
Sunday Postcard Art ~ Green
The little bird is one of the first digital images I ever collected, I think from the Graphics Fairy.
Background texture from Yindabelle at Textures for Layers, also Kim Klasson's texture, Providence.
sunday Selections--Spring 2007
The flowers are just beginning to come out here in Boston--changing everyday. I took these in May of 2007 in a city park. Just a glimpse of what's to come.

Three Muses-One Beautiful Thing
One Beautiful Thing
Frame/background from Shadowhouse Creations, Beauty overlay from Angela Powers of Artsypaint.
The bird is a brush from a set called Gol and Morgh, which is taken from a style of Persian (Iranian) painting. Here's a link if you'd like to see some more.
I painted the the bird with brushes aet to soft light.
52 photos--outside the lines
Sometimes the camera does it all by itself...it's like magic!
I was shooting in continuous mode, outside, in the rain, camera in one hand, umbrella in the other.

52 Starlets--the 40's--Katharine Hepburn and Hedy Lamarr
I chose these two actresses, not because they are favorites of mine, -although Hepburn certainly is- or because they are fine actresses-they both are.
I chose both because of positively radiant, gorgeous portraits I found. I hope I did them justice.
Kate was done in Photoshop CS3 using Impressionist filters.
Hedy was done with Fotosketcher layers and blended in PSE8.

Take a word--Green
My absolute favorite color!!!!
I made one, and then another, and couldn't decide so here they both are...
Luna moths are actually very pale yellow green--not at all like these bright beauties
Moth from Dover, background from Digital Yard Sale
Spirits of the Forest
Green always makes me think of the "Green Man", the guardian of the trees and plants in the forest. The background is made from my own photos of Acadia National Park in Maine, and the "green man" is a chain saw sculpture that makes his homeat King Richard's Faire in Carver, MA. The barn owl image is from Google
Sunday Selections Oregon coast, Cannon Beach revisited
these photos were taken along the Oregon coast in November 2004, a few months after I finished treatment for uterine cancer. It was the trip of a lifetime!
These views appeared around every corve in the road.
This little girl in her bright pink boots was exploring Cannon Beach with her dad.
This seal, I think it's a harbor seal, followed us--just beyond the breakers--as we walked up and down the beach for about 20 minutes.
This beach was littered with enormous logs, which had escaped from log rafts coming down the coast from Alaska, Canada and Washington. They float just under the surface and are a terrible hazard to small craft and fishing boats

Shadowboxes--after Joseph Cornell
Joseph Cornell is a master of assemblage art, most notably shadowboxes, His are totally 3-dimensional--mine are totally digital. Images from Google, Frames Free for Use Flickr group and my own stash of images.
Soartful-Harlequin
I found this amazing photo, Harlequin Guise by ~Nivlac at Deviantart. I altered it several times in Fotosketcher, then layered them in PSE using blending modes and levels. The background/overlay is from Media Militia's collection, Patterned Spheres. The quote is byStephen Dunn.
