Experiment--Wabi Sabi

Wabi sabi is not a style defined by superficial appearance. It is an aesthetic ideal, a quiet and sensitive state of mind, attainable by learning to see the invisible, paring away what is unnecessary, and knowing where to stop.

It is a concept I personally struggle with, being a packrat by nature and a clutterer as a result.  I almost always find it hard to know when to stop, both in art (I love color and texture) or in photography, to stop and really study the scene before me, instead of just clicking off several images amd moving on.

So here is a first attempt to get beyond the bright colors and the busyness of the world and just see the beauty wherever it lies--in a leaf, a worn doorway, a single blossom, a tree branch against a gray sky.

We'll see...
