original photo-an abandoned house in my neighborhood
Added a couple of texture layers, text layer for a bit more, played with some painterly filters in PSE and Xero, a plug-in for PS and PSE. I also added the cat, from a Wikimedia Commons image.
Something about the Summer Olympics always brings out the patriotic pride in me... Here's a bit of Olympic history.... The poster is French, and Jesse Owens, an athlete from Ohio State, dominated the world's athletes in Track and Field in the 1936 Olympics in Berlin.
I began with a photo of a smooth, mostly glass, building, and added a couple of layers of heavy texture, by Osolev at Textures for Layers, set to Multiply and Overlay. The Eye of Horus is just a reminder that there is more to the world than we see.
Image from Mizzd@deviantart; background from Scrapbook Flair and a photo from the Hubble telescope, The moon mirror is from my stash of elements, but I have several like it scattered throughout my home.
HEAT WAVE!
While not as hot here as in some other parts of the world, it's been sunny and hovering in the 90's for the last several days. Raining today, but still hot...At least we're not on fire...God protect the families and wildlife in Colorado.
Painted with photoshop brushes, including Watercolor Flowers sets 1 and 2 from Brush Portfolio...no, I didn't paint the flowers, but I did over-paint them.
My photo, colorized with a sepia tint. Filters used were Find Edges and Gaussian Blur. The sky was painted in with brushes ans a green tint was added to the trees.
Thanks for visiting.
