Take a Word--Grandma's Recipes
What I learned most from spending summers with my Nana was not so much recipes, but how to cook. She had the basic recipes for biscuits, cookies, soups, sauces and pies in her head, and she taught me proportions, and most importantly--not to be afraid to add stuff and experiment with flavors.
Between her and my dad, who was a cook in the Navy, I can make a mean soup, a great pasta sauce, and take a basic cookie recipe to great heights.

Original photo from Google images--alas I don't have any of me and my Nana cooking...

Photo Arts Friday--Hardware
My photo of the gas meters at the office park where I work, 2 layers of Artist's Easel and one of Wicked. Watercolor and cutout filters applied.
Playing with someone else's style
Svenja Jodicke, an artist living and working in Berlin. Make-up art
has really paced up over these years, like the body painting art and
lip art. Svenja’s work is inspired by all kinds of people,
places, animals, and other things beyond imagination which really takes
her craft to the next level. By adding theatrical feathers, contact
lenses and other accessories, Svenja creates some truly vibrant and
colorful works. She also creates fabulous fantasy portraits of people and animals.
This is my take on her style of animal portraits.
