The letter Q is for Quiet.

Pages sponged with left over acrylics, collaged with dictionary pages and other papers, packing tape transfers, stenciling and text printed on tracing paper (it really DOES disappear when you glue it down.)

Journal 52 Week 4

This week's prompts were Full Moon and Lunacy.  the words to the song Paper Moon immediately came to me, and i went from there.

Began with a coat of black gesso (I LOVE black gesso) then a thin coat of blue acrylic for the sky. the moon face is from a digital piece I recently completed, layered between a circle of sacred geometry (Google it, it's beautiful)  and a wax paper circle lightly drybrushed with white acrylic. The "cardboard sea" is collaged from a gelli print.

I think it fits both themes.

Digital Mania's Flickr Challenge--David Arms

from davidarms.com

With his wife and two daughters close by, David spends his days in a sun drenched studio filled with Classical and Americana music, french press coffee, books and patchouli. But some days he prefers to paint in the quiet, inspired by the sparrows, wrens and chickadees living at his window. It is here that he creates images that transport you from what you see into that sometimes faraway place of what you feel and what you believe – and his wish is that the viewer look long enough to walk away with a renewed sense of hope.

Let your eyes search his paintings and may you be blessed as you find a place to rest, hope for your heart, light for the darkness…and continue on…as we stumble on…this journey together down Redemption Road.

These are my interpretations of his style, and it was a joy to create them.
