Three Muses Challenge- Mail Art

The background of this is an actual envelope I designed a while ago to mail a bookmark swap. I added some embellishments and transformed it a bit.
Credits to Scrapbook Flair, Graphics Fairy, Ms Jordan, Trine at Nothing But Freebies and Jessica Sprague, and to Stephanie Shimerda's Postal brush set.
The stamp is from RoyalMail.com and is a actual British postage stamp from a set called Mythical Creatures, issued in 2009.

SPA-Song Titles

The Boxer, by Paul Simon

I am just a poor boy.
Though my story's seldom told,
I have squandered my resistance
For a pocketful of mumbles,
Such are promises
All lies and jest
Still, a man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest.

When I left my home
And my family,
I was no more than a boy
In the company of strangers
In the quiet of the railway station,
Running scared,
Laying low,
Seeking out the poorer quarters
Where the ragged people go,
Looking for the places
Only they would know.

Lie-la-lie...

Asking only workman's wages
I come looking for a job,
But I get no offers,
Just a come-on from the whores
On Seventh Avenue
I do declare,
There were times when I was so
lonesome
I took some comfort there.

Lie-la-lie...

Then I'm laying out my winter clothes
And wishing I was gone,
Going home
Where the New York City winters
Aren't bleeding me,
Leading me,
Going home.

In the clearing stands a boxer,
And a fighter by his trade
And he carries the reminders
Of ev'ry glove that laid him down
And cut him till he cried out
In his anger and his shame,
"I am leaving, I am leaving."
But the fighter still remains

Lie-la-lie...

The fighter is Sonny Liston. The background was made with pieces by SkeletalMess, Encounter_Laura and Decar66 at Textures for Layers Flickr Group.

Alphabet Inspired-O is for Owls

Owls...strange looking birds. Their eyes are so expressive it's no wonder we often attribute great wisdom to them. But sometimes they look like they just want to EAT you!

The small owl on the bottom left and thepair on the top right are from the Graphics Fairy, the others are from Google and Wikimedia.
Background bits, including the brushes are all from Jerry Jones, sometimes known as Skeletalmess, and sometimes as Shadowhouse Creations.

SPA Dance

Created with photos I took of a friend of mine. She's a dancer, and, during one of those lovely sudden summer downpours, ran into the street and danced joyously in the rain.

Here's another piece I did with the same photos.

Take a Word-Umbrella

Bunnie has been noodling around in the April Showers with his dashing new umbrella.

The original B/W photo is mine, and Bunnie lent his head. The umbrella was found on Google and the rest is brushes, filters and layer styles.

SPA Mothers

SPA's challenge this week is Mothers. I'm submitting two pieces this week--the first is a postcard made for the challenge. How proud this young mother is of her beautiful baby.

The second was made for the Digital Whisper 100 Themes Challenge, Motherhood.
It's called "everyone has a mother."

Digital Montage Studios Challenge #6--Colorize me!

This challenge was to colorize this beatuiful black and white photo. I added a frame from Joessistah at T4L and a photoshop brush.
I used gradients to colorize and the Luminosity mode and Watercolor filter to create the texture.
