We each come into this world accompanied by an animal spirit - a
significant indicator of our personal power - that walks with us on our
soul journey through space and time. These Spirit Guides are very
personal totems since they strongly reflect our inner spiritual nature.
These Life Totems are animal spirits that are with you your entire life.
They are your essence, your character, and reflect your innate core
traits. This relationship remains the same throughout your life. They
are your closest personal guides to help discover the truth of who you
are. They are always with you.
While I've never consciously tried to identify my animal spirit, I do identify with Bear.
This is lovely, Linda!
ReplyDeleteMagnificent Linda! Love that story.I think it's true. xx

ReplyDeletebe glad if you have the strength and energy of a bear! your art piece is just wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIs it an north american indian belief? Your image is very stong, and so is the bear... so, why a rabbit as an avatar? Hihihi, are you assuming and accepting your strong AND cute faces?
ReplyDeleteWonderful entry anyway! :)
This really appeals to the Native American spirit in me...I love it.

ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteI do love the idea of animal totems and have always had a few I am drawn to (wolf and raven). Your art is so beautiful - full of story, myth and a quiet power. Love this!
You've made the bear so interesting and full of meaning. Wonderful work!
ReplyDeleteYou did a beautiful job evoking the spirit of the bear. I can't say which is mine, but cats follow me wherever I go...
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome Linda I love animals and totems but think I am a mouse...lol
ReplyDeletetrue believer in animal medicine....i absolutely love these and your bear is a perfect representation of strength and power. i may have to steel your idea and do a collage w/ mine - i've had several encounters with crows lately so maybe they are my spirit guide at the moment?!
ReplyDeleteFOR GRANNIE: Mouse medicine: veryone acknowledges mice (Ts’okkÅ‚ik’o) are energetic and can be just about anywhere. They investigate the tiniest places. They cover a lot of ground and touch everything along the way. Mouse's behavior can remind us to pay attention to what is right in front of us and to confront the immediate chaos of our lives. Step by step, we can take care of some of the small details that need our attention in our personal lives as well as in our community...and doing so can bring us comfort and joy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post and a great blog too!
